May 31st, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM: Alumni Weekend Kick-Off Reception @ Memorial Hall: In celebration of the 90th anniversary of UD’s study abroad programs, and to kick off Alumni Weekend, please join George Watson ’85, dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, and Nancy Guerra, associate provost for International Programs, and director of the Institute for Global Studies, as they co-host a reception featuring live music provided by our very own faculty and staff members, Jack Bartley ’83 and Ruthie Toole. Complimentary food and beverages will be served.
June 6th to June 9th: IHRC EARTH PERFECT? Nature, Utopia, and the Garden: A Symposium June 6-9, 2013@ TBD:
This symposium, designed for the academic community, garden professionals, and the general public, will address topics such as, the meaning and function of domestic and public gardens, the garden as art, economies of the garden, and gardening in the face of ecological crisis. This event will be an occasion for developing further themes and issues raised in a new book edited by Annette Giesecke and Naomi Jacobs also entitled EARTH PERFECT? Nature, Utopia and the Garden.
