    <div>The Department of Linguistics&nbsp;&amp; Cognitive Science offers a major in cognitive science and two minors at the undergraduate level: one in linguistics and one in cognitive science. The department has course templates for individualized degrees in Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and in Pre-professional Speech Pathology, and in Cognitive and Linguistic Science. At the graduate level, the department offers a flexible program leading to the Master of Arts degree in Linguistics. This allows students to design programs of study in areas of theoretical linguistics, applied linguistics and cognitive science. A Doctor of Philosophy degree is also available with specialization in theoretical linguistics, psycholinguistics, and applied linguistics.</div>

    <div>The Medical Scholars Program integrates faculty and courses at both the University of Delaware and Jefferson Medical College. By studying new academic subjects and gaining practical experience in areas now underemphasized in medical education, students understand health care in sociocultural, political, and economic as well as biological terms. The curriculum ranges from traditional medical subjects to courses in humanities, social sciences, economics, and political science. Small group discussions, problem-based instruction, and hands-on experience encourage students to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and effective communicators.</div>
