One-Time Breadth Approvals for Courses Taken Abroad

Courses that have been pre-approved for CAS breadth courses will count whether taken domestically or abroad.

The following courses have been approved to fulfill Breadth and Second Writing Requirements for students pursuing degree programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, but ONLY WHEN THESE COURSES ARE OFFERED AS PART OF AN OFFICIAL UD STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM and only for the term listed. The same course offered on the Newark campus is NOT approved to meet the requirement. For courses offered through Study Abroad in upcoming terms, it is possible to search for courses that fulfill specific requirements, using the search function on the UD Study Abroad web site.

This list is effective for courses taken during the academic year 2010 and later, unless noted. For courses taken prior to 2010, please consult the Study Abroad office to confirm if the course fulfilled a requirement at the time it was taken. Some courses below have only limited approval for a specific term or Study Abroad location or program.

  • ARTH 402 – Undergraduate Seminar in the History of Art – approved for Second Writing only when taught by UD Professor or in London ONLY and professor must be native speaker of English; courses taught in Granada or Paris will NOT count
