Colored Conventions Project led by Ned B. Allen Professor of English Gabrielle Foreman

‚ÄčAn NEH Next Generation grant will enable UD to build on signature strengths in graduate-level humanities education and research training and African American studies, like the Colored Conventions Project led by Gabrielle Foreman, shown here with students.

In 2016, Dean George Watson announced a recurring $1 million commitment to diversity in an effort for the College of Arts and Sciences to act as a driver at UD to address the longstanding challenge of diversity and inclusion on our campus, particularly as it relates to race and ethnicity. In February, the college established a strategic planning team, which has put a great deal of time and effort into brainstorming Inclusive Excellence initiatives; they've also been involved in conversations with key stakeholders.
