Fostering relationships and enhancing experiences
College of Arts & Sciences Advisory Council (CASAC) is comprised of
alumni, academic leaders, and business leaders who provide a high level
of volunteer service to the College and University. The
Council's mission is to advise and assist the Dean of the College of
Arts & Sciences on matters related to nurturing relationships
between the College and its graduates and wider community, to enhance
the current student experience within the College, and to assist in the
garnering of financial support.
Roles and Responsibilities
Council's primarily role is to help shape the strategic direction of
the College. In carrying out their role, members help inform and support
the work of the Dean, faculty and staff. They serve as a sounding board
for the Dean and provide advice to ensure that College programs
maintain the highest standards of excellence. They help ensure that the
College has the resources to achieve its goals by being a source of
financial support and by referring others who can be supportive. In
addition, they make the activities and accomplishments of the College
more widely known among students, alumni, donors, employers,
professionals and others.
The Council serves at the request of
the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, and by
the Dean's delegation is advisory in nature.
